Primary Engineer will reside with the Manchester Communication Academy offering a partnership that will involve local primary schools, teachers and Academy students with its range of programmes. This unique opportunity will mean Primary Engineer working with the Academy’s local primary schools, delivering teacher training and providing classroom resources to develop the engineering skills in students. This involvement is a long term project and will enable the Academy to build on core skills and ease the transition between primary schools and the Academy.
Primary Engineer incorporates a number of national programmes to inspire, enthuse and educate pupils and teachers about the world of engineering through the classroom. Programmes are designed to offer teachers continued professional development in maths, science and design technology, classroom resources to engage and support delivery of practical maths and science to design and technology activities, so enhancing the creative curriculum and fulfilling national curriculum requirements in a STEM by Stealth manner.
The opportunity to work with the Academy’s dedicated staff and pupils will undoubtedly have a positive effect on Primary Engineer and the programme it delivers nationally.
Primary Engineer is supported by Tomorrow’s Engineers created by the Royal Academy of Engineering, Engineering UK and Lloyds Register Educational Trust.
