April 2010

Because it has been developed in partnership with employers and universities, the Diploma provides a real insight into the dynamic and ever-expanding IT and telecommunications sector and the various career options you will be able to explore.
Unlike other qualifications that focus on developing purely technical skills, the Diploma also equips you with practical knowledge of areas like project management, IT support, website development and business design that are valuable in any business environment.
The Diploma also helps to develop other essential creative and communication skills such as working independently, managing your time and working as a team.
This blend of technical, practical and interpersonal learning opportunities creates a fully rounded education that can take you on to a huge choice of further study or career choices - not necessarily IT related - and provides the kind of flexibility and future potential that employers are really looking for in a 21st century world of work.
Principal Learning
The principal learning is compulsory and consists of seven IT topics that teach students the main principles and practices for this sector:
The potential of technology

a coaching qualification in sports leadership
