CREATE Education Project - June

Greater Manchester Academies Trust is delighted to announce that it has become the first CREATE Education Hub in Manchester. This will provide exciting opportunities for our students, parents, other local schools and the wider community to develop skills and further their understanding of the design industry from hands-on interaction with modern processes (i.e. 3D printing, laser cutting, CAD CAM software and specialist CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines used for processes such as turning, milling and routing.

At Manchester Communication Academy (MCA) we have successfully embedded the use of Ultimaker's 3D printers into our Key Stage 4 curriculum and Extended Schools Programme. In addition, based at MCA we now have two certified Autodesk Fusion 360 instructors, who in addition to delivering training to our students, will be accessible in providing training and CPD to the wider community and local schools. Further information on which can be accessed by contacting Tom McCrory or Martin Roberts on 0161 202 0161
