Identity Poetry

On Thursday, Miss Cook and Miss Jones took their Year 8 English class to the drama studio for a creative workshop on Identity Poetry. Teachers shared poems about where they 'came from', and pupils were encouraged to think about how geographical place isn't the only thing which defines us. The poetry that pupils produced ranged from entertaining pieces about their favourite foods or childhood games, to highly moving pieces about family memories, reflecting on difficult experiences such as bereavement or conflict. An inspiring lesson, reminding us yet again just how incredible our pupils are.
