This year saw 26 year 9 students complete their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. The students have been working towards the award during their Core PE lesson which has involved the completion of 4 sections. The students have completed a volunteering section whereby they cooked for the mustard tree shelter, they completed litter picks and gave up their time in various other ways. The students completed the skill section whereby they attended the Manchester Bouldering centre and learnt how to climb. The students also completed a physical section whereby they took part in various sports and also created and completed a training programme. They finally completed the award with the final section which was the expedition section. The students showed great resilience and character to all complete the bronze award. The students have been a great credit to themselves and the academy.
