Concerned About Child's Wellbeing
Where to report a concern about a child’s wellbeing:
All adults in school, including visitors and parents should report safeguarding concerns to one of the following staff:

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child and you cannot reach a member of the safeguarding
team in school, please refer to children services on 0161 234 5001
Or out of hours children services on 0161 255 8250
If you believe a child is in immediate danger please contact the police on 999

Childline is the UK’s free 24-hour service for children and young people. Run by the NSPCC, Childline gives children and young people up to the age of 19 confidential support with whatever is worrying them. Since the service began in 1986, it has carried out over 5.9 million counselling sessions with young people. Childline supports more than 200,00 children and young people each year.

We are an Operation Encompass School
Operation Encompass is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse.
Manchester Communication Academy takes part in Operation Encompass in partnership with Manchester Safeguarding Board and Greater Manchester Police.
Operation Encompass has been designed to provide early reporting to school of any domestic abuse incidents that occur outside of school, but which might have an impact on a child attending school the following day. This information will be shared with the school by the police.
We always endeavor to offer the best support possible to our students and their families and believe that the Operation Encompass is beneficial and supportive for all concerned.
